The most common form of cleaning we provide to our patients is scaling and root planing. Both are deep cleaning methods specifically designed with the gums in mind. Scaling is the process by which we remove diseased gum tissue and any traces of decay from above and below your gum line. Root planing is designed to smooth the surface of your tooth roots and other areas of your tooth that are rough or textured. These rough patches easily trap bacteria and food particles that cause decay.
